I don't know about that hotel specifically. But at most hotels in FP the ONLY English channel is CNN World. Suggestion...you're in absolute paradise...leave the TV turned OFF!!! If you truly need something to watch at night...go outside and watch the skies! They are absolutely beautiful!

And try and get hold of some Tahitian CD's. They go down well on the balcony of your OWB at night while you are watching the skies. Hmmm.

In our many visits to FP I have watched TV only once ,and it was in French because there was a special on Bobby Holcomb. And that was at a friend's house. I agree,in FP sitting and immersing oneself in the beauty is a million times better than TV.

You may also get to see some Elmer Fudd/Daffy Duck cartoons in dubbed French! Pretty funny, actually...

We watched the news last time we were there in French (it came on in Tahitian and then the same news--as far as I could tell from the photos & videos--came on in French). We were worried about a strike at the airport & felt we should try to keep up-to-date on it (having booked ourselves with no travel agent to call). But we really enjoyed the recycling commercials in Tahitian (with the dancing turtle)!

The only use of TV in FP is "interpreting" the shows and commercials into English. I'm a total idiot, but when I'm watching foreign TV I laughed myself sick. My favorite is Telemundo telenovas.

Ok, so there is the local news on TNTV at 6.10 in Tahitian and 6.25 pm in French, RFO 6.30 in Tahitian and 7 pm in French, they're both the same... Justine we're inudated with SAmerican soaps... at all hours of the day

oooohhh, South American soaps are even more dramatic (and completely ridiculous) than the Telemundo ones!
