I did all of my own reservations after checking and found about the same rate as the travel agents did but had so much fun talking to the local people at Hotel Bora Bora and Air Tahiti and Tahiti Beachcomber that the time spent (and phone bill) was worth the excitement. Saved money by using miles to fly "free". You won't find a discount at HBB but we did just get a call from marketing in LA letting us know that they were forwarding the current promotion offer to us during our stay,pareos/breakfast/excursion etc. That French Polynesian accent truly was the start of the trip!
