IC Morrea renovations

Spoke to the GM last week at the IC Moorea. Major renovations begin November 2009 through June 2010. New overwater bungalow decks, new pool etc. He suggested we postpone our scheduled April visit because of heavy noise/mess. Since we couldn't postpone our trip and since we are yearly visitors, he was kind enough to contact the GM at the Hilton for us. Olivier at the Hilton was very cooperative and helpful. So looking forward to some great snorkling in April!

Enjoy the snorkelling at the Hilton! That was nice of the GM at the IC Moorea to suggest you postpone and then to help you out with the Hilton. Very good customer service.

Hmmm, I didn't know the IC was renovating too. I knew the Hilton was. We're spending a couple nights at the IC Moorea next month. I hope the renovations won't be too crazy by then. Glad to hear they are renovating though, it needs it!

The timeframe I've seen is renovations starting towards the end of November. When I emailed the hotel, they advised rescheduling my April vacation to June if possible (which it's not as I already have air purchased).

It will be a big renovation at IC Moorea - Mostly by the pool area and slowly working on new decks for the OW's
Yes Theirry B is a great GM and Olivier at the Hilton is also doing a great job.

We were just on Moorea December 11-21 and the IC is a mess in the pool area. We stayed at the Hilton, but went to the IC (because I was worried that we could have stayed someplace cooler!) and wow. We were really glad that we weren't staying there. Huge barriers up in the pool area and backhoes crashing around. I'm sure it will be lovely when it's done, but just not right now!
Oh, and you guys were all right: I have the fever now! ; )
