Anonymous Unregistered

My wife and I will be visiting FP on April 22 arriving at about 7pm. We were planning on staying in Papeete for 4 days before our Princess Cruise ship sales on April 26th. However, after reading the postings on the BB, I now want to limit my time in Papeete. Which is recommended Bora Bora or Moorea, given the fact that my wife and I rarely spend much time in our hotel room on vacation? The OWB sounds like a nice option but, I question how much value such an expensive room would be to us since we would rarely be in it. We want a 4 star hotel or better, where there is lots to do and great scenery? I hear the water in Bora Bora is clearer but there is less to do as compared to Moorea. Is it really important to stay in a OWB or a beach bungalow to make a good memory of a first and probably only trip to FP? Many thanks for what you knowledgeable veterans can share

With that arrival time in Papeete, you can probably get to Moorea the same evening. Not so, Bora Bora. If you choose Bora Bora, count on spending at least a half day in transit to and from. On the other hand, Bora Bora offers more choices for accommodations of the class you're seeking. If you choose Moorea, the Sheraton may be your only option (maybe the Beachcomber).

Whether Bora Bora or Moorea, reserve a beach bungalow or better. Most of FP is about being in, on, or near the lagoon. And you'll be surprised at how much time you'll spend in/around your bungalow.
