Quick question hopefully. Maybe Pohere can advise! Does anyone know off hand, the price of say, a bottle of French Champagne like Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin(yellow label) is in one of the supermarkets. Trying to figure if I should buy in Tahiti, or purchase on the cruise ship.....love french champagne!!!! Thanks.

When I went in May of '08, I did a price check for alcohol at LAXD Duty Free and at the Champion Toa market on Moorea. Here are the champagne prices I found. I'm not sure if the Veuve Clicquot I saw at Duty Free was the exact same on on Moorea, because I wrote them down differently.
But...here are some prices anyway. I don't believe the current prices would be horribly different than they were a year and a half ago.
LAX Duty Free in US Dollars
Dom Perignon~$165
Moet~$62
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin~$66
Champion Toa Market on Moorea Prices in XPF’s:

Thanks Patti. I did not even give the LAX duty free a thought.I wish that it traveled well. It is so much cheaper here at home. LAX duty free and the ship are basically the same price. Thanks again.

Ship stores are actually duty free, and there are only a couple of operators of duty free stores world wide. Probably the same company.

Thanks Pohere! Need to have a glass or two to enjoy the sunset with. Don't want to fall off the boat because your fish are much to large and plentiful there. Are you able to meet Vai while she is there? Would be nice to meet my advisor!!

Vai is in Huahine right now, we spoke yesterday and yes I'll be seeing her next week in Moorea. You arrive when and where are you staying?
