Yeah, there is. Giles from Blue Nui Dive on Bora Bora told me last month that French Polynesia are getting syringes of a chemical that we use here imported from Australia to Papeete, and then they are being distributed out to the islands. Moorea'a program is well under way as well as Taha'a/Raiatea. The Crown of Thorn star fish is injected then removed from the ocean, because if they are cut up, then multiple star fishes grow from each chopped up piece. The program here as been very successful to the point that they are not seen as a threat anymore.
