I recently found a men's wedding band while snorkeling in front of bungalow 91 at the Moorea Hilton. It appears to be a platinum ring with a first name and date inscribed inside of it. The couple was married in 2009, so it was likely lost on their honeymoon. I would love to find the owner and return it to him. If you think it may be your ring, please reply and let me know the inscription so that I can return it to you.

By the way, I just e-mailed the hotel too to see if they have anyone who reported a lost ring this year. I sure hope they can help!

LA Fadeaway,

You might want to post this on the Trip Advisor forums too, under the "Moorea" section, as they have quite an extensive readership.

Barbi, I already posted there too, but thanks for the suggestion! Any other sites you'd recommend?

Fadeaway, Great, I saw your post on TA. That and the email to the Hilton are the only contacts I can think of. Nice of you to make an effort to do this!

I've been doing some searching on the bride's first name and the dates on the ring too, but haven't come up with anything it. I'm not even sure if they are American or Eouropean so that can affect the order they used for the day/month on the inscription. If they are french, I'll probably never track them down without help from the hotel, given I don't speak french at all. Keeping my fingers crossed. I can only imagine how happy they would be to get the ring back! I haven't heard back from the hotel yet, but it is the weekend.

I can just imagine the grief that the new bride must have given the poor sap who lost his brand new wedding band! I know I would've chewed up my hubby...

How do you know if the poor sap didn't drop it on purpose?

Pago, I thought about the same thing. Maybe they got in a fight and he threw it out there, lol! I doubt it though. They were married so recently, that it must have been a honeymoon. I've met more than one man who lost his ring in the ocean while on a honeymoon. They aren't used to wearing and keeping up with the ring yet and then it slides off easily in the water. Not a good combo. Still haven't heard back from the hotel yet...
