Novice! He put WAY too much effort into the jump. Preferred method is the simple "giant step" taught as a scuba entry technique.

Happy holidays to all.
First scan the water watching for Sharks,Whales Giant Sting Rays.
Slowly enter water being careful as lower steps on ladder are slippery.
