You look SO relaxed and at home there, Joe. Almost part of the furniture. It's a nice place to escape our real worlds, isn't it?

G&C, I can't think of a better place to escape to. I look at home because I feel at home.

Maybe the "chip in and buy Club Med" should be revived?

Lets wait until after Oli and see what's left. Hope my favorite place on the planet comes through with a minimum of damage and all our friends are OK.

Fiston's other two dogs are Tuava (who is the litter-mate brother of my own Nika-Iti, who we brought home from Moorea as a pup in 2003), and Tiaki, the big fat pitbull who sleeps under the house. The third dog, Nika, recently died at age 12 (he was the papa of my Nika-Iti and Fiston's Tuava); he's the one you brought that grave plaque for. The cat is Camel, a sweetheart and very good rat-catcher!

They are our dear, dear friends, and yes, the nicest people on earth! We will call them later today to make sure they are okay after Oli!

Let me know what you hear Barbi. I plan on calling Maluha when I get home this afternoon to see how they are.
I've already sent emails to Fiston, Maluha and the staff at Les Tips, but so far no responses. If I hear anything, I'll share it here.

Just got an e-mail from Mr Bessou. He said all of their hotels have survived thus far.

Glad to hear that Bob. Maluha said all is well there also. Same as Fare Hamara, twigs, branchs and leaves. Sounds like Oli wasn't too bad.

Fare Miti is just fine! Fiston is fine -- we reached him by phone yesterday; he said his internet is down. Lots of debris from the wind and rain, but no damage. Les Tips had some slight damage to Joe's fav bungalow.
