Was, that's wild, rodjune. I never put anything valuable in my luggage and don't lock it anyway. The first time we went to FP, I went to unpack on Moorea and discovered that the 'helpful' luggage inspectors had found my luggage locks locked onto a single zipper pull of my luggage (I didn't even know I had them!) and locked my luggage. For a few (very exhausted) minutes, I panicked, thinking I'd have to cut into my luggage, but I found the keys in an outside pocket. I took those locks off my luggage and I just leave everything unlocked. All that's in there is underwear, shirts & shorts & bathing suits (plus the snorkelling equipment tucked into the middle). On the way out, there's liquor, but I could afford to lose it. Digital cameras, medications, etc. are always with us.
