Hi Every one We may go back to FP in 2011. Thinking of renting a small house in Moorea for a week. Then going to Kia Ora Rangiora for a few nights and Kia Ora Sauvage for 2 nights. We have 16 or 17 nights to spend including travel from NY. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

Hi Patti We met Bob and Mary at there house on our last trip. Beautiful home but we want house on the beach. Robinson Cove is the house we are looking at. Do you know any thing about the Kia Ora resorts. Staying at a hotel with no electric sounds like fun. For 3 nights

While the Kia Ora is undergoing renovations all of 2010, I can weigh in on our stay for our honeymoon in 2005...
I did all the research for the honeymoon. We ended up visiting 3 islands (Bora Bora, Huahine, and Rangiroa). Due to the lack of electricity at the Kia Ora Sauvage, I REALLY had to lobby Nicki on Rangiroa. I collected all sorts of glowing reviews from past guests of the Sauvage (found on these forums)...and she finally agreed to stay there.
The biggest complement I can give is that of the 3 islands we stayed on, Rangiroa was the one she wanted to return to...and the Sauvage was her favorite place we stayed. Not that the Sofitel on Bora Bora or the Te Tiare on Huahine weren't incredible...it's just the unique experience at the Sauvage that won her over.
Total relaxation, the "lost on a desert island" feeling, wonderful hosts...
We are returning to FP this September to celebrate our 5-year anniversary. Since the Kia Ora and Sauvage on Rangiroa are closed, we needed to look elsewhere. We are returning to the Tuamotus...staying for 5 nights at Raimiti on Fakarava. Looks quite a bit like the Kia Ora Sauvage experience, which is what we're seeking.
Best of luck with planning your trip...over two weeks in FP and you'll never want to return.
Scott

We love the Kia Ora Village (we've never been to the Sauvage because we're always so busy diving the pass). I am not sure if the renovations have begun yet, or how long they will last. I would definitely check on that from someone reliable before booking. If you go and are a strong swimmer/scuba diver, dive with the Raie Manta Club.
