I believe it's called "The Legend of Hiro," and is reported in Jan's Prince's Tahiti & French Polynesia Guide (5th ed. 2008) at p. 381. You might want to buy the book or check it out at your library.

Bora Bora’s Legend of Hiro God of Thieves --Polynesian oral history tells that Bora Bora was always inhabited by gods and princely chiefs. One of the most famous was Hiro, god of thieves, who hid out on Toopua, the small island where the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort is located today. --Using the dragonfly to distract attention, Hiro and his band of thieves robbed their victims at night, between sunset and the first cockcrow. --Hiro's constant companion was a white cock, called moa uo in the Tahitian language. One night Hiro decided to steal Toopua Island and take it home to his hideout. While the god of thieves was attempting to attach a cord around Toopua, his white rooster became excited and began to crow, breaking the magic power and so enraging --Hiro that he hurled the bird against the face of Mt. Pahia, where the imprint still remains. --Hiro managed to detach a large chunk of the island, which is called Toopua-Iti, separated by only a few feet from Toopua. Just beneath the water’s clear surface lie the rocks known as Hiro’s canoe. --Ashore on Toopua Island are giant stones that are said to have been left by the two giants, Hiro and his son Marama, after the two giants tossed the stones about in a game of timora’a. And deep inside the coconut forest on Toopua is Hiro’s Bell, a gigantic rock that reverberates when struck.

I think Kitra may be referring to Moua Pua(?puta)(the pierced mountain)on Moorea.

After a little digging, I found the legend - Jan Prince has a shortened version in her Tahiti Guide. I did my best to translate from french.
The Legend of the Pierced Mountain of Mo’orea:
One night, Hiro and his band of thieves, arrived on Mo'orea to steal Mount Rotui. They attached long ropes/vines to the top of the mountain and started to pull it. They succeeded in detaching a portion of the island, which is evidenced by the two bays (Opunohu and Cook’s) that straddle Mount Rotui. Pai, a favorite of the Gods, was living in Puna'auia on Tahiti, and was awakened by his adoptive parents who had just seen this scene in a dream. Pai arose, climbed to the top of the Tata'a hill and threw his lance towards Mo'orea. The lance crossed the sea, striking a mountaintop on Mo’orea where it passed through boring a large hole in the top. The mountain has been known since as Mou'a puta (Pierced Mountain). Continuing on its way like a meteor, the lance arrived in the south of Ra'iatea, where it struck and was embedded in the top of a mountain, which to this day remains indented. The impact of the lance caused vibrations, which awakened the roosters of Mo'orea. The roosters began to crow, which startled the thieves and caused them to flee to Rai'atea as fast as possible, fearing the coming of daylight. However, Hiro and his band of thieves succeeded in tearing off a piece of Mount Rotui, in the shape of cone, which they took along to Ra'iatea and placed not far from the shore of Opoa. On this hill, you will find that it is covered small toa (ironwood trees), similar to those found on Mount Rotui but contrasting with surrounding vegetation.

You guys are great!!!! Thank you for your help. I always do a Travel-Log when I travel. It's more of a diary than a report. Unfortunately it's in German, so I can't publish it here anywhere.
Had a great time in FP!!!
Love and Kisses to all!
