Hi everyone. We're leaving in 11 days (!!!!!!!) for 2 weeks in the above islands. We're staying at the Sofitel in Moorea, the St. Regis in Bora Bora, and Le Taha'a in Taha'a. We've got some excursions planned, but are looking for some suggestions of places to eat for dinner on Moorea and Bora Bora. Nothing really fancy, I'm sure we can get that at the hotels. We'd like good food (we're not really seafood eaters) and a relaxed atmosphere, maybe with light music? I'm going to tool around the site here, but thought I'd see if I could get a more concise answer by posting. This will be our first trip to FP, and we're so very excited!!!!!
Also, what's your favorite "little known" spot? We love little gems!!
Many Thanks, Jen & Kevin Ott

mmm... also, any good suggestions of places to go on any of the islands to buy some local art? We like to collect local photos/paintings so that we can torture ourselves when we're back home in DC?

From the Sofitel on Moorea, you would need a car to get anywhere else to eat, other than the resort. Some of our favorites are Le Mayflower, Snack Mahana and Aito's on the west coast. On Bora Bora it's going to be harder to eat outside the resort. You need a boat transfer to the main island. A couple of places are Le Bounty and Matira Beach restaurant. Although Matira Beach is pretty pricey. As are most places on Bora. Ask the concierge at the St. Regis. They can arrange a reservation and transport. Most of the places will pick you up at the boat transfer station.

Try this link. It is a list of all activities and places to eat on different islands. Good source of info.
