Good Day Everyone! This will be our first trip to these beautiful islands. This is our 10th wedding anniversary and wanted to go somewhere very special.
Is there other ways to travel from Rangiroa to Bora Bora other than Air Tahiti thru Papeete? Boat maybe? We have 4 nights on Rangiroa, 3 on Bora Bora, 3 on Tahiti, in that order.
Thanks for any info! Randal and Catherine

You'd never get there in time with a boat. You'd get there and have to turn around to get to Bora. Plus, the water is VERY deep between the islands. 8,000 between Bora and Tahaa and they're only 5-7 miles apart, which makes the seas are extra rough. Take the plane.

Depth does not make rough seas. Still waters run deep. The channels between the Hawaiian Islands are much more shallow than the open ocean--& much rougher.
If the seas between Rangiroa & Bora Bora are rough, it is not a function of depth.

Randal and Catherine The small inter-island freighters are used to haul freight not tourists. Use Air Tahiti your one and only airline in Tahiti between islands.

Hi Randal, do you have to do the islands in that order? It is so much easier to go Tahiti, BB and then onto Rangiroa (and saves less transit time at the airport on your way back through from Rangi)?
Oops, just realised this original post is over 12 months old!!
