Who is flying this route. Air Tahiti or Air Moorea ?
What type of plane is used ?
Are there any luggage restrictions.I understand that it might be a small plane ?
Thanx for any info :-)

Air Moorea and Air Tahiti are owned by the same entity. As a cost cutting measure, all inter-island flights are now going through Air Tahiti. Air Moorea still flies between Tahiti and Moorea, but you go through Air Tahiti to make a reservation. The aircraft are ATR72 Twin Otters. Luggage is a 20 kilo limit. Check out www.airtahiti.aero for more info.

Do the airlines in and outbound from all of French Polynesia prohibit carrying knives/sharp items and liquid containers over 2oz?

How much is the charge if it's slightly over 20kg? I am going to be there for over two weeks and I don't want to do a bunch of laundry, so I just packed extra, luckily swimwear and shorts don't weigh to much.

For interisland flights, is everything carry-on only? Or can you check stuff in? I just don't want to get into a situation where I bring sharp stuff or bottles and end up being forced to throw it away.

SuCo, depends on who/where you're flying. Air Moorea usually doesn't weigh anything. They are pretty liberal. On Air Tahiti it's hit and miss. I've been charged only a few times. Depends on how much over the 20k limit.
jplee3, you can check baggage on all inter-island flights, no matter the carrier. And have 1 carry-on.
Check www.airtahiti.aero for more specific baggage regs.
