Hi,
I'm planning on going to French Polynesia as part of my gap year, and was wondering how easy it would be to use ferries to travel between the Society Islands (I'm interested in Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Bora Bora, Maupiti and Raiatea/Taha'a). I know it's possible but was wondering how feasible it is?
Or is it a lot easier and less hassle just to get an airpass?
How many days would everyone recommend on each of the above islands?

Thanks for the reply, hopefully ferries will be feasible in the end, but I'll see how it goes and then I can decide what to do when I get there!
Do you have any idea on how much time to spend at each island? I was thinking around 3-4 days each?

I'd say no less than 3 days each island (and I think that's way too short myself). The shortest time we've spent on an island is 5 nights and that gave us time to settle in and really get a feel for the island, the locals, the sights, etc.
