Sheraton Nui, Sofitel Motu or Le Meridian??

My wife and I are planning a trip to Moorea, Huahine and Bora Bora in late March and are trying to decide where to stay in Bora Bora (3 nights). We currently have reservations for a OWB at both the Sheraton Nui and Sofitel Motu (and believe I can get a OWB at Le Meridian if needed). I got a pretty good deal at the Nui so the cost for 3 nights in a OWB is approx. the same for all 3 hotels. Was originally leaning towards the Nui, but given the mixed reviews I have heard here and elsewhere, wanted to get some input on what my best option would be. My biggest concern about the Sheraton Nui is that it is too large, still has some kinks to work out service-wise, and faces away from Bora Bora so no views from the property itself (except perhaps if you were able to score one of the OWBs in the very last row at the south end of the property, where there is a channel through the motu).
We would love to hear any suggestions/input on what would be our best option.
Thanks.

sounds like you've done your homework.. I think it boils down to a choice between 2 priorities - do you want a view, or do you want the newest and biggest?

I would skip the Le Meridien. We were just there, the food was pretty bad, and there were fly's everywhere.

Keep in mind that no where in BB are the resorts really too big like you may be thinking about like at a place like the Atlantis or something that you would see on Maui. They are all layed back and pretty mellow. It just so happens that the Nui and Motu are realtively big and small compared to each other. Either way you choose you wont go wrong. It seems that the Motu has a better view, but the Nui has more services (spa, exercise room etc.) The service at the Nui in December needed a little finesse, but I am sure that it will be worked out realtively quickly considering what the room prices are. FLIP A COIN AND GO AND ENJOY

I am going to Bora Bora in June and I had a hard time deciding which hotel I want to stay in. I have done many research and call every possible travel agencies specialized in Tahiti. I have decided to stay in Le Meridian. At first, I was worried about the flies problem that I keep seeing from the internet. Later, I realized that it was all from the same person, Surfcontrol. Perhaps, he did have a bad experience there and from all the other comments I've heard, they are all pretty good. I hope I will make the right decision

I have been to the Le Meridien Bora Bora several times and never had any problems with flies. I always stay in the Beach bungalows so if there is a fly problem it would be there. I would not worry about it.

We just returned from our honeymoon where we visited Tahaa Pearl Beach, Moorea Pearl Beach, and Le Meridan Bora Bora. Le Meridan is a very nice resort overall in atmosphere and activities offered. The resort is fairly large and the lagoon was wonderful. It does offer an amazing view of Bora Bora, and the water is beautiful. Truly the landscape is gorgeous. However, I found the bungalows to be dark, dreay, cramped, and a bit damp. If I were to return to Bora Bora I would stay at the Sheraton Nui in a tree-top bungalow which looked fabulous and interesting(this resort is quite expansive and some overwater bungalows are quite a ways from the main area of the resort)or the Sofitel Motu for pretty views, privacy, and an overwater choice. Still, the ULTIMATE overwater expereince in my humble opinion is at the Pearl Beach Tahaa, and nothing even comes close to comparing to this resort and the overwater bungalows that they offer.
Happy traveling!
