I am thinking about taking the whole family to Moorea for a week.
There would be seven of us.
Has anyone any experience or update info on the Bali Hai Boys Beach House? I think from the info I have that it is next to the Pearl Hotel.

It is next to the Pearl (going towards Cook's bay) It is a double house and 1/2 is Kelley's off-spring... the part that is for rent:

For seven people, you should also look at Fare Hamara, www.farehamara.com.

Thanx. I've had Fare Hamara on my list for some time, but if we take the kids and grandkids - who are avid snorkellers, I'd like them to stay on the water. (Otherwise my grandson's gameboy would come out)
We caught the "Moorea Fever" badly when we stayed in an OW at Club Bali Hai after our Tahitian Princess cruise in March 08.

I'm curious as to which of the Kelley clan is running the operation at Bali Hai Boys Beach House. I think Hugh had 10 kids total....and an ex-wife. I wonder which ones are involved in this?
I don't recall ever hearing anything about this place until the recent article in Budget Travel. Article was really good, but a bit strange...in that it showed a couple of pictures of Club Bali Hai (including the cover shot), but it wasn't about Club Bali Hai at all. I'm just wondering if The Bali Hai Beach House is a new start up, or has been around for awhile. When I showed Muk the article, he seemed like he didn't know anything about it...but said it was Hugh's old house.

I'm curious about the place too...has anyone stayed there? The layout looks like it's just one big house, not 2 units?

The many different "Kelley's" would stay in turns and that would not always go smoothly...
It is 1 roof under which 2 houses seperated by a double garage space in the middle part. The Kelly's unit is very cozy and filled with souvenirs of the good old times. Good location because you're right near Maharepa commercial center but quite expensive...

Poehere~ So did they just start renting out this beach house, or have they been doing it for awhile? Just curious, because most of us have never heard anything about it until now.
It sounds like an interesting place to stay...but I would wnat to know EXACTLY which of the the Kelly's were handling day to day operations before I'd commit (or recommend anyone) to staying there.
