Sadly it has nothing to do with the increased strength of the US dollar....but rather that the Euro is sliding because of the problems with the economy in Greece and some other European countries. BUT....regardless of the reason....if it's making FP more affordable for us....then it's GREAT NEWS!
I'd love to see it get up well over $1 next year. Paul has visions of going back to Raimiti next year. Last time we went the rate was in the 60's....I'd love for it to be in the 100's....it'll make for a much more reasonable trip!

Yep....as much as I do feel bad for the European countries with the Euro slipping so much.....but...considering the Polynesian Franc is tied to the Euro...it sure does help the rest of us that are not tied to the Euro!!! Now if this can only hold out to next year...as I don't think we'd take a trip until early next year. I still have about $300 worth of cpf's that I bought at closer to the mid 70's a few months ago. Guess they're not worth $300 any more....oh well...LOL!

Today's rate 1.00 USD = 93.9884 XPF. If the Euro keeps tanking, FP is going to get affordable again.

Yeah, Joe, but R tells me the reasons that the dollar is going up against the Euro are also killing our retirement investments!

Barbi, Today was an example of that. I just hope I have enough when it's all said and done to be able to spend 2 or 3 months there like you do.
