I just happened to notice on the Sofitel website that their OW bungalows on the private isalnd (motu) are double beds, when all of their other accomodations are king beds. Has anyone stayed there and this is the case? I can't imagine that they have kings in all other rooms but these.

Thank you in advance.

The Sofitel Motu? We were there a few years ago and they had king sized beds (in fact, the biggest kings we'd ever slept in).

We haven't been for years, but we've been twice, stayed in the OWBs both times, and both times had huge king-sized beds. (Actually they are two smaller beds pushed together but it's done pretty well, we were comfy.)

We stayed on the island in 2004 - used to be called the Motu... I am 6'8" tall and the bed was plenty large (I believe it was a king).

Way back in 2003, the room had one big bed but joined by two smaller beds. We wouldn't even have known that to be the case except that we tore the sheets off the bed to "camp" on the small lounge platform one night, and saw the divided bed situation. There was some sort of plastic "bridge" they put between the two beds so you don't really know it's not just one king size bed when all the sheets are in place.
