We have to admit we like the critters on Moorea, especially the cats and the chickens. Here's a couple clips on youtube from Club Bali Hai:

I love the chickens and had a real "Gallus Gallus Domesticus" for a while, poor little thing abandoned by mum would come in for breakfast (cat biscuits) until she got lost in the wild forever...

We are currently hand-feeding 5 baby chicks who lost their mother a few weeks ago. They come onto our bungalow deck and peck at the door in the morning. I'm afraid the next guests here will be surprised to find they are the proud parents of some teenage chickens without manners!

We fed the cats "Mono-croc" dry cat food from Champion and it wasn't a hit. The crabs sure liked it though.

Just be aware that all those cats are flea infested! It took three flea baths to get our kitten we took home flea-free. Cold water and tweezers, one flea at a time!

ugh. fleas.

They both serve such a great function eating things that are not good for us such as the viri-centipede of which we have seen quite a few this year. What's up with that?

We agree with everybody, a good healthy cat will take care of the mice and rats.
