We've stayed at Le Meridien (twice), Club Med, Pearl, Thalasso and have wanted to stay at Hotel Bora Bora, 4 Seasons and Sofitel Motu. All are favourites for different reasons. Any thoughts?

Gary, it depends on what you're looking for. The Sofitel Motu is very quiet (we were there 5 nights and saw another couple twice!), the view of the main island is gorgeous, the on-demand shuttle convenient (and it makes you feel a bit like you own the island!), and the location near things to walk to on Bora Bora is great. I'd go back there if I were going to Bora Bora, but I haven't stayed anywhere else so I'm biased.

Forget HBB, FS is not at all comparable to the Sof Motu... try something else:

Wow, that place is phenomenal, but it had better be for that price, LOL. I really enjoyed staying at the Sofitel Marara in 3/08 on Bora Bora and it looks like they have now merged the Motu with the Marara so you can choose where you want to stay.

Isn't that where the Eddy Murphy "wedding" took place? Are there another 3 couples out there interested? Or should we re-ignite the Club Med Moorea buy out?

Haven't been to Rangi yet, Patti, but Huahine is our next goal, but Le Taha'a will figure in the same trip too. We are also thinking of our first "Pension experience" on Tahiti at Fare Suisse.

That's a pretty wide range of resorts. Myself I go for snorkeling, the view and the avoidance of other tourists so that means Sofitel Motu. The FS is too far to town, and too big for my taste.

I would also like to recommend Sofitel Motu. It is a perfect location with amazing views. It is a good place to go if one likes romance, good food, peace, swimming and snorkeling. Moreover the meals are served at very fair prices and the rooms are quite clean.
