I never seen the subject come up but is there a chance that there are any whales around those waters in March?(BB)

have you ever seen an whales in those waters at any time of the year?

I've only seen whales in the fall (Oct. and Nov.) We were in FP last March and didn't see a one. Sorry. BTW, Dr. Poole's excursion is in Moorea, not BB.

I was just wandering if anyone ever took a day trip father out
into the ocean what would they see besides deep sea fishing.Do
you know what is the main catch if you do go deep sea fishing?

Yes, he is sometimes slow about responding. He may be away from the islands (we had a Hinano with him last March and he had just come back from a 3-4 week vacation to visit relatives). Also, the email and web connections in FP are highly unreliable. If he doesn't reply by the time you leave, call him when you get to Moorea, I am sure you can get his number from someone at the hotel. Re: fishing. Well there's albacore, swordfish and the usual suspects in terms of big game fish. Fishing excursions are usually pretty expensive from what I've been told. If you take a day trip by boat to Tetiaroa, you will get to leave the lagoon and sail the open ocean a bit.
