This will be our first trip to Tahiti (end of May 2003). It'll be our 15th wedding anniversary. We are trying to choose between going on the Windstar cruise (Tahitian islands) or getting a hotel on Bora Bora and staying there.
We love to scuba dive and we love getting to know the islands we visit so staying on one island is appealing. At the same time, we've never done a cruise like this before and thought it would be a neat experience.
Has anyone done the cruise? I'm a little worried about getting sea sick. Does it rock a lot? How is the food, excursions, etc.
If we choose Bora Bora, which hotel would you recommend? Our travel agent gave us REALLY high rates (which also included airfare) at Hotel Bora Bora (over $9000 for 7 nights). That's a little more than we had wanted to spend for a week. Any other suggestions? We definitely like deluxe accomodations.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks!

We were on the PG in August and I LOVED seeing all the islands on the cruise. We said we were so happy that we cruised the islands rather than traveling from island to island. We would recommend a cruise to everybody if going to Tahiti. We also stayed at the BBLR for 4 nights before the cruise, and for us, that was long enough. We like to move around and discover new things and we defintely did with the cruise. It was really nice being able to stay in the OWB, though!! It was alot more organized arranging excursions with the cruise staff and also it was so nice to have all our meals on the ship , which on the PG they were all amazing! It is VERY expensive to eat on the islands, but i did think the food was also great, so we didn't mind spending the money. That is my opinion and I am sure it just depends on what you are looking for. We met couples who did not leave the BBLR once!!!! We just thought if you were going to travel that far, don't you want to discover everything!!! But everybody is different.
