Hi people! :)
I'm hoping to get to FP later this year/early next year. Do you think I should stick to one island and have a day visit to nearby islands or just stay put on one? It's so hard to choose lol.
Mauruuru! ;)

How many days do you have? A day visit? No, unless it is to Tetiaroa.

Welcome to the forum, Kelo!
In 2 to 3 weeks, you could do 3 or 4 islands. More than that and you would be spending too much time traveling rather than enjoying your holiday!
Most people go to Moorea and Bora Bora on their first visit, and do not spend a lot of time on the island of Tahiti. If you tell us what you like to do (diving, snorkeling, hiking, just plain relaxing), we can help with island suggestions.
You might also want to check out the airfares between islands on the Air Tahiti website. It's very expensive to get between Bora Bora and Tahiti, but less expensive to get to Moorea. Multi-island day passes are also available. www.airtahiti.com

I'm travelling from Scotland, where I'm from. I would prefer staying with local people rather that spending thousands on multimillion dollar corporation hotels etc. - I try to avoid those situations and help the locals. I'm actually disabled after a fairly horrific attack - a local junkie hit me in the face with a 4 foot axe and the result was not what I hoped my life would be. I snorkel, walk some trails now and then and do what most people do - just a little slower lmao.

Barbijkm is the expert here on places to stay in Moorea. On Bora Bora, people like Chez NoNo and I had a friend that stayed at Chez Robert and Tina, and she liked it very much.
I like Huahine the best, but it is an extra air fare to get there, although there is a ferry that goes there now.
Do you want your own cooking facilities, or do you plan on eating at restaurants? Do you plan on renting a car, or do you pretty much want to stay at your place?

On Huahine, we stay at Villas Bougainville, where you get a car and a boat. There is a website. The owner is extremely nice.
There is a kitchen with everything. TV if you want it (although we never watch TV there)
There are other options as well, such as Relais Mahana which is on a beautiful beach, but you would have to eat in the restaurant or the restaurant next door.

For a list of good rated locally-owned guesthouses ("pensions"), check this website: http://www.haere-mai.pf/index.php?page=accueil&lg=en
Many of us here prefer staying at smaller places than resorts. On Moorea, I can recommend Moorea Fare Miti, Les Tipaniers, and Hibiscus Hotel (in that order). Club Bali Hai is also a reasonably priced alternative to the expensive resorts.
On Bora Bora, check out Chez Nono.
I think you might also enjoy Huahine for the local authentic Polynesian feel and friendly people, laid-back atmosphere.
