By the end of the month it could be $1=100cpf. When was the last time we saw that rate? Bring it on!!!
Sure it's hurting our retirement investments...but at least French Polynesia will be semi-affordable for a while!

Other way round for us, Patti. Our government just released the budget here and our dollar died. Fair to say that we will have a new Prime Minister come November.

so who's lucky on here and can predict how long this exchange rate will last? I wonder if it will even go above 1/1?
Barbi, if all goes well, you will be doing great on Moorea financially.

With the turmoil in the European debt markets, anything is possible. Don't be surprised if you see 1.10 XPF to 1 USD later in the year if the Euro goes to the toilet. It's anyone's guess.

Hey Barbi~ Remember a couple years ago when AMEX was offering XPF at around 85 and you were so excited and calling all over the country to buy some. Who woulda thunk it would EVER be back up to 100???
Woo Hoo! Now if it can just hold out or get better for next year so I can take advantage too.
