Hi guys!

Myself and my girlfriend will be heading over there in 3 weeks! Very excited.

Just one qustion though, everytime i google the weather over there(which is daily :D) I see that its sunny and raining. Like here: http://www.google.ie/#hl=en&source=hp&q=bora+bora+weather&aq=0&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=bora+bora+wea&gs_rfai=&fp=8a72ace91574aa32

My question is that is the rain only a shower or is it raining much? maybe just in the afternoon for a little while??

Thanks.

Usually, it's just a shower. There are no guarantees, of course. Most of the time, you might get part of a day of rain for every week you stay, but some people get totally rained out and others don't see rain at all. The good news is it's so hot in FP that the rain is never cold (and can be refreshing in the heat) and the fish don't care if it's raining so you can still snorkel and see lots of fish and coral (though your photos won't be as good).

June-July is the beginning of the "winter" (dry) season in FP, with a little less humidity and rain. It is BEAUTIFUL this time of year, temps in the low 80s(F)! Towards July, the "mara'amu" winds start, making it cooler in the evenings. We sometimes need a nylon windbreaker at night in July. You will LOVE it!

I like to go in their summer. I don't want to wear a jacket at night. I leave the tundra for the wonderful no jacket required time.

Me, too, holte. Living so far north, we NEED to get somewhere warm in our winter, don't we? Mind you, this past winter I went dog-sledding and snow-shoeing up north instead. What was I thinking? LOL.

We also love Nov/Dec as we have experienced the best weather during those months.

We travelled once in mid June and found it a bit "cool" - even though we flew out of Sydney that morning and it was 10 degrees C.

I guess we just love the heat and humidity and it was definitely "hot" there in December last year!!

We have gone in December-Jan and Feb-March. We actually get a little chilly at night sleeping. We bring a flannel sheet to use as a blanket for at night.

It must be the difference between the near ninety in the day and the 80's at night.

I am not kidding about that. But we do sleep with the windows open.
The place we stay at has screens.

We've been there every month except February! From December to April can be warm and sticky but still ALWAYS gorgeous, but we LOVE May to November. We have actually had a blanket on the bed a couple of nights in July, but that's REALLY unusual!
