Air Tahiti Nui USA Air Tahiti Nui, in conjunction with our hotel and travel partners, is proud to offer its special 4 Day vacation package starting at $999. This package is created in recognition of the marketing trend noted in various research, that more Americans are travelling for shorter periods of time, and taking longer weekend vacations – and that during this time of economic recession, consumers continue to seek lower costs and good value. In fact lower cost, 3, 4 and 5 day getaways from the east cost of the US, to various points in Europe, trips of 7 to 9 hours, are now a common part of visitor trends to Europe. Even Australia and New Zealand, which previously were 14 to 21 day vacations are now regularly visited by many people for seven days or less.
While many people would like to travel for 7, 10, 14 or 21 days, the pressures of time and budget sometimes does not allow this. The Four Day Tahiti special, with a $60 fee for staying an extra day, provides a low cost opportunity to experience the beauty of Tahiti. Take a day trip to Moorea, shop at the “marché”, a visit to the James Norman Hall museum, a day trip to the world famous teahupoo surfing area, a night at the roulottes, are only some of the wonderful, experiences possible.
While we realize that 4 or 5 days may be short for some people, over 2,000 happy visitors came to French Polynesia in the last 18 months on this great short stay offer.
We remind our valued followers that if you visit a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream parlor, there are 31 flavors to choose from. This in recognition and respect - that not everyone thinks the same and not everyone likes vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. So instead of making that 4 hour drive to Las Vegas, or 7 hours to San Francisco, or 5 hours to Honolulu, take advantage and enjoy this great vacation offer in paradise – only eight hours flight from LAX, and do something really different.
I can't post on facebook at work but when I get home I'm going to be quoting them all the Tahitipresse tourism stats. Tourism is in the toilet and they continue to argue with their customers.

Wow! At least Baskin Robbins doesn't put the same flavour on sale over and over without a change. I just simply don't understand why they won't offer a longer stay? Do they think those of us who stay longer will go anyway (we can't afford to).
Editted to add--I agree about them arguing with their customers. I'll definitely be looking at Air France next time we go (whenever we manage to save up that money!).

LOL...good catch! I didn't even notice that. I wonder how many people would have gone during that time for 4-5 days anyway.

Take it a step further...2000 visitors...usually go in groups of 2...so that means about 1000 couples took advantage of the sales....in 18 months.... 1000 rooms rented and food eaten for 4 days over 18 months!!! WOW! I'm sure that made a HUGE impact on the economy over there!

They put something out there in cyber space and people took them to task. Now they can't retract it and are trying their best to spin it in a favorable direction. And not doing a very good job of it either I might add.

Wow - Patti you were censored!!!!! Your post was cut from the ATN site as well as others!
And look what ATN wrote: "Thank you to those who posted in favor of this airfare, despite being bullied by the same individuals! This airfare was specifically meant for people like yourselves. Rest assured, these people do not work for ATN nor do they have connections w/ ATN... and the simple fact that they live in LA doesn't mean anything, in fact one of them lives in Vancouver, BC! Thank you for your positive posts :)"

Well just one more reason I like to fly Hawaiian. Besides saving the extra $100 LAX flight, the one flight a week guarantees a 7 night stay.

My post and anyone else who called them on it has been deleted. I don't think ATN could do that but Facebook might have.

It was ATN who deleted the posts. They changed their facebook "Mission Statement" and now have this:
"Our Facebook Mission Statement – Good Manners on ATN Facebook
Air Tahiti Nui invites and welcomes comments and suggestions on its Facebook page which are of a constructive, useful and positive nature. The mission of the page is to encourage travelers to visit French Polynesia and to use the services of Air Tahiti Nui.
Guests on the Air Tahiti Nui page are reminded that attacks or aggressive comments directed to other visitors, to Air Tahiti Nui or French Polynesia are not accepted. Advertising or promotions of other destinations or products should find their proper place on those sites being promoted.
Air Tahiti Nui reserves the right to deny access to its pages, at its own discretion, where it finds expressions contrary to the “Good Manners” policy as outlined."
