Sofitel Motu vs. Tahaa PB?

Hi- We're planning our honeymoon for September 2003. Our original plan was to go to Bora Bora and Tahaa (~4 nites each). On BB, we were going to stay at the sofitel marara in a beach bungalow and then our splurge would be the Pearl Beach on Tahaa (tahha view OWB). I'm starting to wonder if it would be better to make our splurge the Sofitel Motu instead of the Tahaa Pearl? any thoughts? If we stay with out original plan, does anyone have any thoughts on the Sofitel Marara? Any opinions on garden vs beach bungalow there? sorry to be longwinded...thanks

We just returned from Tahaa PB OWB and it was AMAZING! Nothing in all of FP can compare. The entire resort screams paradise and of all the places we visited(Le Meridan Bora Bora & PB Moorea)is the place we are dying to return to. I would do a beach bungalow at PB Tahaa to save money and go to the Sofitel Motu on Bora Bora...I would definitely SKIP the Sofitel Marara if at all possible, because it looked quite rundown and was not in the nicest area. I would totally recommend an OWB at the Motu. We stayed in Nov 2002 and had a wonderful time. The Marara was a nice hotel, but you can't beat the Motu. We often took the shuttle boat over to the Marara for lunch, drinks, a dip in the pool or to walk the grounds to get to the grocery store. I didn't find it run down, but the Motu is WAY nicer.

We just planned our September honeymoon as well and had the same indecisiveness...
It was hard to anrrow down islands and hotel coices!
However, after about 6 months of research,
we decided to do the following...maybe a similar itinerary would work for you?!
1 nite tahiti- Sheraton lagoon view
3 nites Huahine- te Tiare beach bungalow
3 nites Tahaa (what I'm looking forward to!)- Pearl Beach, Beach suite (with private pool)
4 nites Bora Bora- Sofitel Motu, Deluxe OWB
we decided to skip Moorea and add on Tahaa....
we've never been to FP before, so I can't help you in that department, but it seems like you are going long enough that you can split up your days...or if not, add another day! It's you honeymoon!!
Maybe we'll run into each other!
