Hello folks!
Well, I'm happy to report that i'm officially booked for June 2011! It's a really good feeling!

I have read great reviews for Le Taha'a and Vahine Island and frankly, I don't think I can make a mistake picking either one, but what would be the advantages/disavantages on both? They seem to have roughly similar rates (le Taha's slightly higher, but not by much).

Many thanks - Andie

Lucky you, Andie! I haven't been to either so I can't help you, but I'm thrilled that you get to go again!

Thanks T! - It might be my last one for a while after that one. 3 trips in 5 years isn't too bad!

Hey Andie,

When in June are you going? We haven't booked yet, but our plan is to be in FP from May 20th to June 4th. We are going to Vahine Island first (probably) for four nights. We've been to Le Taha'a twice and loved it, but we thought we'd try something new this time. We're also staying for 4 nights in Bora Bora and 6 in Moorea. Where all are you going?

Wow, 3 trips in 5 years. I'm envious, but happy for you! Carrieg, where are you staying on Bora Bora and Moorea? It sounds like a nice mix of islands.

Hi Old Wife. We are still struggling with picking a resort in BB, and that's one of the reasons why we haven't booked yet. We've narrowed it down to the Four Seasons (probably mountain view OWB) and Sofitel (we'd stay in an OWB on the motu). I think we are leaning toward the Sofitel because I love to snorkel (and snorkeling is suppose to be very good at the Sofitel motu), and because Four Seasons has a kids club (we'd rather not be around a ton of kids on our vacation). But the bungalows at the Four Seasons sure do tempt me, especially the bathtub right in front of the glass windows that slide out of the way. Have you been to either of these resorts? What are your thoughts?

On Moorea, we are splitting our time between the Pearl and the Hilton. Normally we wouldn't consider moving resorts on the same island, but because of some issues we had with the Pearl last year, they have offered us a couple free nights so we are staying there for three nights, then moving to the Hilton for three nights, since we've stayed at the Pearl on four earlier trips and want to try something new.

We stayed in an OWB bungalow at the Sofitel Motu (in bungalow 128? I think...at the very end and corner overlooking Mount Otemanu so when you sit on the deck, you don't see any other guests or their decks). The snorkelling really was fantastic there! We liked our bungalow--huge room, huge bed, lots of storage space, big bathroom with 2 sinks, separate toilet and the shower is very deep and has a rainfall showerhead (no bathtub, though). The 2-level deck (sun and shade) and the rinse-off-platform were great for snorkelling and sunning (there's coral by each bungalow so you can just jump in for some snorkelling--though the back side and north end of the island have better snorkelling). The resort is so small that we only saw other guests twice in the time we were there (and we stayed 5 nights!). The on-demand shuttle was so convenient (you might have to wait a few minutes for it to come across to get you, but they leave bread/baguettes at the waiting spot so you can feed the fish).

Hey Carrie! Looks like we'll miss each other :0( We'll be there mid-June to mid July. I think we're going back to Raimiti...!

So it would be Fakarava, Tahaa, Maupiti and Moorea, but we are also interested in Tikehau, Anaa and Huahine. Not sure what to do! We may skip BB this time, but friends of ours are likely to join us on this trip so they'll want to do BB and it will be tough to let them go by themselves...!!

Any chance you'd be going later? It would be great to see you again! Anybody else going in June/July?

What a bummer Andy. We can't really go later because we are fitting it in around Steve's work schedule. Sounds like you will have a great trip though. Sorry we will miss you!

Thanks Old Wife for the comments on the Sofitel Motu. I think we've pretty much decided to stay there, so its nice to hear great things about it!

Andieeeeeeee... Anaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??? OMFG LOL what on earth do you want to do there?

Re your 1st question up, depends if you want a resort or small intimite place, but if you're going to Anaa... then again you might wanna choose a nice resort first and enjoy showers, running tap water etc before getting lost on that atoll LOL
