Thanks so much Poehere! How I love this board!!!
Thank goodness my hubby is mechanical so he can tell if the car is truly a wreck or just wreck looking.
He is so set on a scooter, but then I would be dependent on transportation with him. He says that would be fine with him, but I like to be independent.
On Huahine they have these dune buggy like cars called Mokeys. I love those. Are they something that is available?

I think you'd both tire of a scooter fairly quickly (besides it being more dangerous). Think about the downpours of rain FP has. Imagine being on your way "home" with groceries (and how many groceries can you carry on a scooter?) and having that downpour hit you (plus the danger of wiping out with rain on the road). Also, with a car, you can take friends with you if you go snorkelling, shopping, out to dinner.

I'll have to tell hubby about the taking friends part.
Hubby is set on a scooter or small motorcycle. He doesn't care about the rain, etc. He has ridden motorcycles for 50 years, so he loves the idea of the scooter/motorcycle.
He has a couple of dreams-riding his motorcycle which is some old Honda CV 650 to Alaska from here in Minnesota and his main dream is to ride the motorcycle from here through Central America. If he gets more serious about the Central America part, I am going to show him the downsides on the internet. But maybe not. If I can get a huge life insurance policy, maybe not- just kidding.
Me-I hate the idea. But it's better than a bicycle. The friend thing will get him for sure!!!!
He is extremely social. Thanks for the idea!
