I saw in the Tahiti Presse that ATN is updating its fleet of aircraft to enable them to fly non-stop from Paris. I had been looking at flights direct from Paris and there were a few but now when I check there are none - with the exception of ATN via fly.com. Were there non-stop flights from Paris before or was I day dreaming???? It just seems a helluva way to fly without a pit stop.

They always had a stopover in LAX.

There used to be a nonstop from NYC, but no longer. The Paris flights stop in LAX.

They probably mean you don't have to deplane. Non-stop means you don't stop and direct (I think) means no change of planes.

That would be a bonus! lol Flights from Europe can be helluva lengthy between stages unless you pay a kings ransom for a better deal. One flight I saw had me in LA for 30 hours or so. Some of my connection times leaves little time to connect especially if ATN are leaving from Paris as one web site suggested.

a couple of times we have had to wait for planes coming from Paris at LAX. I'm not sure if the people get a stretch break or not, but I don't think so.

There is no transit lounge at LAX. If the passengers from Paris were let off the plane they would have to go through U.S. immigration and customs.

Direct means that there is no change of planes.
