@Holte,
Have you heard anything back or have you received your visa yet? Just checking up on you! :)

No. I wanted to ask you if you got yours. I asked a friend in FP to have Oscar hurry up my visa, but she said that they are processed in France?

I received mine and have been living in Tahiti for over a week now. I got my carte de sejour on the 2nd day I was here. I know for mine, it was in fact processed in Tahiti and France didn't have anything to do with it. I'm surprised that you haven't gotten it back since you were at the consulate the day after me :(

No, he had nothing to do with it except calling once a week to see if it was done, which did not speed up the process.

I am somewhat concerned now. But maybe you were a priority because of your upcoming wedding?

They told us that the ministers have up to 30 days to approve a visa, and they took all 30 days (starting from when they receive the info electronically from Chicago). They only meet on Wednesdays. Have you tried calling the consulate to see if they have any news for you?

No, I have not. When hubby got a visa last year, he went to Chicago something like Sept 7. He asked for a leaving date of Nov 1. The visa came after Nov 1 for sure. Maybe like Nov 7.
I figured 2 months for it because of that experience. I will have him call tomorrow.
Thanks so much for thinking of us.
Best wishes on your upcoming marriage.
The leaves are falling here, although the weather has been unseasonably warm, so far. You are so lucky to be out of the tundra!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sad I didn't get to see much of fall before I left. I know I'm lucky to be here, but it's probably my favorite time of year. But I know I won't miss the -60 in a few months! :) I'll be thinking of you til you arrive here. I know how stressful it felt for me and I wouldn't wish that stress on anyone else! Good luck and I hope to hear good news from you soon.

Big congrats to you, Nat, and big wishes for a great wedding!
Holte, I flew into Minneapolis yesterday on my way to see family in NY, and the fall colors were breathtaking from the air!
