I'm glad to know I'm not suffering alone! I hope we all get the medication we need some time soon, even if "soon" means "within another year or two."
Poehere, I'm sorry you have the CA fever. Maybe we could trade places... Yosemite is my second favorite place on earth (first place: deep under water in Tiputa Pass, Rangiroa!). Two different kinds of natural beauty, but both are heart-stoppingly beautiful. We got married in Yosemite, we love it so much!

Joe, did you book air Moorea? They're closing shop as per end of Oct, so if you did make sure you get your tickets validated by air Tahiti!

We've got the FP flu so bad we planned this year's vacation (Nov 2010) on the way home from Tahiti last year (Dec 2009).
And we have already started planning another one for Nov/Dec 2011 - lets hope the bank account is cooperative with our plans!!!!!
Carrieg, your plans for May sound great - looking forward to your trip report upon your return:)

I had wanted to hold out against the flu until the Kia Ora re-opens on Rangiroa, but even if they re-open when they claim they will, it won't be soon enough for me. (Plus, I have a sinking feeling they'll be slipping their re-opening schedule if the economy doesn't perk back up.)
I'm thinking Fakarava for sure, but I'm trying to decide on other islands. I want to balance authentic, isolated paradise with just a little pampering (pampering we're used to having in our OWB at the Kia Ora...). Are there any divers who can tell me if they loved Tikehau? We've been to Manihi and the diving was just so-so.
Why am I even doing this to myself?? Once I start to actually think about the names of specific islands and hotels, my work motivation just goes out the window and flies straight to Tahiti. Agh!

Always have the Flu. Moorea is definitely on our list once our kids are just a little older. That might be about five years out.
