CHeck with Azdine, he takes people on the Valley of the King hinkings, but I think Hubert Temarii is more "your" guy, he hikes only with the experienced... I have a tel contact, just post if you'd want me to find out some more.
There's one trail actually going up Pahia and one that runs across from the Faanui bay to the other (eastern) side, bay de Vairau, just south of Fitiiu in the Anau district (this is where you have the land bases for the staff of the FS and St Regis. Both trails start in the Faanui bay area (the one that crosses starts right at the end of the bay, the one going up on the right hand side (not marked, hard to find) is at the edge of the village Vaitape when getting into the bay Faanui and is not far from your hotel's shuttle docking station in Vaitape but you'd need someone to take you there and point out the trails to you.

Hey Jimmy & Julie. I was researching hiking on Bora Bora for my honeymoon in just 2 weeks, and came across your posting. We are pumped about hiking Mt. Otemanu and Pahia. Did you end up being able to do this without a guild? If so can you share some details? I have found in my research that may be quite hard to find the entrance to the path.
Let me know. Any help would be great.

You build it yourself, Suki, out of empty beer cans. :)
I'm also interested to know if the original poster climbed Mt. Pahia!

Hi Jerrious, it being your honeymoon (!) I would absolutely recommend you to get a guide... and not venture out on your own
