We stayed at the motu in January in a treetop, and it was really nice. We were in room 107, which I believe is the highest one, and it had a great view. We had tons of privacy, but only because there was no one in the bungalow next to us. Had there been someone there it would have been a little strange, because the balconies were side by side. (Actually, there were only 9 couples in the 30 bungalow hotel, so we pretty much had the whole island to ourselves.) We loved the hotel, but overall the treetop certainly did not compare to the overwater we stayed at in Moorea. But I would say it's the next best thing.
