PEARL BEACH BB vs. MOTU - FEELING CONFLICTED!

am so glad I found this forum!
husband and i are planning to be in BB the first of august. were close to booking an OWB at PB but are now reconsidering since reading the rave reviews on the MOTU. is there any particular reason why we might like the MOTU better than PB? if anyone can offer some comparisons of the two that would be great! am mainly interested in the quality of the OWB's, resort location, views, service and BUGS (should we expect many in august?)
any other helpful info/advice is welcomed. thanks!!

I can only tell you about the Motu. We stayed in Nov 2002 and loved it. The OWB's are fabulous, better than anything I could have imagined. It was my dream trip and all my dreams came true. The Motu is on a motu (small island) off of the main island of BB. You have a courtesy shuttle to take you to BB at your beck and call, it takes about 5 mintues to get by boat from the Motu to the Sofitel Marara (the sister hotel). You can use the facilities at the Marara including the pool, restaurant, bar, and beach. The Motu is where the 'Coral Gardens' are that everyone snorkels and pays an excursion fee to do so.

thanks bsinutah! based on your input, some conversations with travel agents, and what we've read on this and other boards, i think sofitel motu is definitely the best choice for us. can't wait to get there! now it's time to shed a couple lbs. and get working on that base tan!!
