We have FINALLY booked our trip, no more indecision for me! we decided on 1 night on Tahiti, 4 nights at the BB Sofitel Marara garden bungalow (budget decision) and 4 nights at the Tahaa Pearl Beach - overwater BB view. Woo-Hoo! I've read lots of posts about people asking for room # reccomendations. Is this really something to consider, or should I just take what we get? At what point to you put in such a request? when you book? Unfortunately our TA was pretty clueless about FP in general, so she was no help in this area. Any thoughts?

IMHO, I would not book thru someone generally clueless about FP, as you put it. It does help to have someone familiar. However, Sofitel Marara- if garden bungalow I personally say no preference as to which one. Beach, yes, I'd prefer one further from restaurant area...You should be fine with that choice. Others, I cannot help you with....
