Well and truley got the flu and we are now trying to organise 2011. Any suggestions on the best suite departing Tahiti for sunsets/sunrises? Left or right of the ship?

Bora Bora Cruises
TahitiTravel offers excellent deals for cruising the magnificent lagoons of French Polynesia.
We highly recommend the Bora Bora Cruises for luxurious intimacy (actually a v.good value compared to the cost of a stay at a 5 star resort) or the Regent Seven Seas Cruises Paul Gaugin for a deluxe but more traditional cruise experience.
Check our Cruises page for more information

LOL on dep that would be of course port side for the sunsets and starboard for the sunrise, on return the Marquesas reverse so for sunsets suite K or F for sunrise suite E or G they have small balcony and also face towards the bow of the ship as they're corner suites. There's a couple of smaller suites (4) or the deluxe with no balcony but rather what they call a French window facing side ways, nice to get a breeze in.

I'll be on that ship when it departs on Jan. 29th, after spending a week on Moorea. I'll write about it when I return to the states early March...Byron.

Gary and Cath, I'll be jumping off the ship on it's last stop, Rangi.
I'll scope out the villages while I'm there. Seems like there's plenty of places to stay.
I've noticed that since the Kia closed, all (or most) of the other places have raised their rates. A fine display of capitalism! HAHAHA! I'll come back to the states at the beginning of March and report then...Byron.

No worries, Byron, we are also planning on jumping off ship in Rangi as well - hopefully Kia Ora will be re-opened then (we heard of a possible Sept 2011 re-opening date!!)

G&C have you booked the Aranaui yet? FYI they're adding a fuel surcharge due to increased oil prices...

Poehere, can you believe it - the last three cruises for the year are booked out already (they only have standard cabin left and we wanted suite or deluxe).

We are currently in talks with local TA and may be revising whole itinerary for Dec 2011 - watch this space lol
