wow, Patti and Spot. Sending you my best thoughts and wishes!
Spot, I am going to contact you about Easter Island, but the computer goes down here in a few minutes so I have to wait.

Patti and Spotbeagle, I'm keeping you guys in my prayers. I'm so glad that your leukemia can be managed. Every year that passes brings science closer to ways to cure (or manage) the various blood cancers. My husband's uncle is in treatment right now for leukemia (the outlook is upbeat -- cure or manageable after chemo). I'll add you two in right next to him in the night-time prayers.

more info about Huahine
1. Luanna (sp?) does a fish burger that is fabulous for 450. She is in the roloutte in Fare that says "pizza". It is her fishburger by day, and then a different person has pizza at night.
The Tahitians love their mayo, so we asked for it without sauce. She was taken aback, so we had just a little sauce. So if you don't like mayo sauces, ask for a smaller amount.
2. We took the Navette (sp?) to the Te Tiare yesterday. It is free now and it runs many hours, but I only know 11:30 and 1:30 because that was the times we were thinking about.
It stops 2 places-one at the Te Tiare dock and one at the dock in town
The Te Tiare is as stunning as ever. We had lunch there. Hubby was craving Mexican so he ordered the tacos. The sauce was spaghetti sauce, so we do not recommend them.
I had hibiscus salad with grilled mahi mahi. I thought there would be flowers in it,, but I think it was because of the beautiful colors of the salad. It was very good.

That's funny about spaghetti sauce on the tacos...I was in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico once for Thanksgiving and our hotel had a special American-style Thanksgiving buffet for dinner...except the cranberry sauce was strawberry jam! Shocked the heck out of me when I tasted it! It's amazing what they think they can use as a substitute, isn't it? LOL!

LOL, I once had fettucine alfredo in Mexico. They must have heard that Italian food was spicy because this was so spicy I thought my lips were burning off.

I am glad that I didn't purchase tickets for East Island. My hubby says next year as this year is a year of recon and we need more recon here.
I broke one of my contact lenses. In the million years of wearing them, that has never happened. I can only wear contacts-no glasses for a long story. I just got a brand new prescription in January which I am trying out, so I thought, "Why get spares?" as they are expensive and when I come back, they may not have worked and I need a new scrip.
My hubby has been waiting for three weeks now for his meds. The doctor found that he had the wrong prescription when I asked for a refill when coming here. Whatever.
My DIL mailed them, but they are not sent with any guarantee .
Now that I need my contacts, she is looking into the Global Service that does not guarantee to Huahine. It costs almost $100. She is checking if they guarantee to Tahiti. Then I can pay to have them sent here from the shipper. Me-penny wise, pound foolish.
We also realized that we need money to buy a car. We have an appointment on April 6 with the bank. That is the appointment that we were given. That is so we can open an account here.
We have other ways of getting money, but it involves bothering others. Duh.
We continue to recon.

Wow, what a big adjustment to island life, eh? Good luck getting those contact lenses more quickly.

I am going to skip getting my lens here. I will have to be without it.
Apparently banks are under new rules and they are really scrutinizing accounts. I wonder if that is true in the US as well?
