The sun is out again after the heavens dropped tons of rain upon our many islands for the longest time, for some a desperate need for others (like Patti lol) probably a pain in the a**

So now the very kind monopoly that runs our phone and internet business decided to help me out and put up a line using living coconut trees to reconnect to the world I thought maybe a good time to "spice" up a little the board and write some actual news and info on a hopeful frequent basis... Oops no paragraphs hihihi

What do you guys think??????

ATN has recently appointed a new CEO who of course has the very difficult task of pulling the company out of the red figures and bringing more tourists to FP. In respect of the rising petrol prices the new CEO has decided that luggage weight restrictions will be applied in order to save on fuel costs. So gone are the days of free excess bagage for the crew and passengers and it is now time for all of you to pack carefully and stay within the weight limits... So those of you who come with tons of bottles of booze and cartons of BYO food, don't say you weren't warned LOL

Mahana Pae I Papeete...

Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month Papeete is celebrating Mahana Pae (= Friday) for tourists. This means that special activities are organised in the town, at the market, the waterfront (tourist office area) and the new park Paofai and park Bougainville. Locals are asked to dress up in traditional flower shirts and visitors can taste fruits, veggies etc and view traditional activities, local artists etc. At night there's music at the place Vaiete (roulottes)

Planning the next vacation with 3 nights in Papeete at the end, for a change. Better make sure one of them is a Mahana Pae.

Tahitizik now allows for downloading your favorite Polynesian music at minimal cost (to support the artists of course). The big collection offers music from Tahiti, Hawaii, Rapa Nui, Rarotonga etc., from the 1960's onward...

Enjoy!

Maupiti Express is temporarily out of service as it ran onto the reef of Huahine (while doing a run BB-Taha'a-Raiatea...!!) maybe Holte was on board and wanted to be dropped off?

So, to clarify re bags, excess weight, and carrying liquids onboard.......2 bottles of liquor are allowed per person. Now you've disembarked from your international flight and are checking in before passing through security to embark on your interisland flight.....what to expect?
Should we put our duty-free liquor into the bags that will be checked or will we be ok to carry-on 1 duty-free bag each?
