The organization of the stores in Tahiti are part of it's charm. Even after 35 years we manage to learn something new every time. Just think what it was like 35 years ago. Every bag of potatoes had one or two rotten ones. Moorea had mobil stores (trucks) that drove around the island and stopped where people had put brush along side of the road. Madam Polet drove a old pickup and sold eggs (not in cartons) and dressed chickens and blew her shell horn to let you know she was close by.

There wasn't even ONE single black pearl shop on any island in 1976.

Holte, I'm so glad you are finally on Huahine and beginning your adventure. Hope the housing situation normalizes soon.
BTW vis a vis weird locations of common items, if you ever need baking soda you may need to buy it from the pharmacist. (If Tahiti is like France.)
I'm looking forward to more dispatches from Huahine and hearing your perspective on adjusting to island life.
