OW, I've never had a problem using the airport ATM. Always worked for us. Plus, we've used the one at the Petit Village with 100% sucess also. As far as travellers cheques, we aren't taking any this trip. We bought XPF from Wells Fargo. I purchased as much from them as I've usually withdrawn from ATM's in FP. I've never spent all my XPF, just brought it home for the next trip.

I doubt I can buy from Wells Fargo since they're in the US and I'm in Canada. I'm going to ask my bank if they can get some in. I can always exchange at LAX (for a horrible rate, but if I'm just getting $100 worth, I don't mind so I know I'll have money).

I think we'll take a taxi from the airport to the ferry. Does anyone know if I can pay for both the taxi and ferry by credit card? I guess I'll still need cash for our transport on Moorea, though. Such a hassle this money thing is! I have 49 Euros and 410 XPF (that's all the FP change I have from the last trip--silly me, I didn't know we'd be going back). I wonder if the Torea Nui driver would take Euros?

OW, you can buy ferry tickets with your credit card. Don't know about a taxi though.
Why don't you go to the Wells Fargo site and see if you can buy them? All they can say is no. I sent you an email.

I checked out the site and they ship only to US addresses. It's okay. I'll check with my bank and I know there's at least one currency exchange place in my city that I can check out. I also live about an hour from the US border and I expect there are more currency exchanges in that border town.

Thanks for the email. Great info!
