I'm so sorry to hear that Patti. My grandmother used to say "Everything turns out alright in the end, so if it's not alright, it's not the end." I find it comforting to repeat that at crappy moments.

Your husband should be glad he is not worling for that company; that is not a decent way to treat an employee...Best Luck!

That really sucks, sorry to hear it. My bet is that they just wanted the info. And, you're better off not working for people like that.
What does he want to do? My BFF and her hubby live in Vegas.

Prior to being laid off 2.5 years ago....he was the distribution manager of a warehouse facility here in Vegas. So anything along that line of work....he would gladly take a position a step down or three....asst mgr, supervisor, shipping or receiving clerk, inventory control clerk. The job he had for those 3 days was as a receiving supervisor.
Heck, right now I'm working on maybe getting him a seasonal job in the call center for Pottery Barn (husband of a friend works there). At this point he'd be happy with just a seasonal job for a couple months. :-(

How about a substitute teacher's assistant?
It would not be hard work, except maybe sometimes changing diapers. They need males a lot, I bet.
At any rate, they do where I live.
Or maybe there is a permanent teacher's assistant job?

Sorry to hear about Paul. Unemployment here in Hawaii is just below 6%, which means there are jobs. The problem the way I see it is that the jobs are lower-paying tourist jobs and Hawaii is very expensive compared to the mainland. Many people here have to hold two jobs to make ends meet. But based on the recent employment reports, there are jobs, but if tourism declines with the uncertain financial markets, that could change things in a flash.

A distribution manager could also be a logistics manager. It's really the same job, just keeping track of different things. I'll see what they know. They're both self employed in entertainment, but may know of something.
