I would rent a car and drive around myself if I were you... reason being that most offering those tours always drag you into boutiques trying to grab commission on pearl sales and other...

LOL @Suki, that wouldn't be so bad.
Thanks Poehere, I know renting a car would be better but I'm helping some friends plan logistics for a large group of at least 15, maybe as many as 32.

MOST American TAs aren't experienced with groups going to FP as their typical clients are the newlywed or the nearly dead.

Anyone else wanna chime in? Please don't be shy.

We did a tour with Albert's and really enjoyed it! The reason I recommend doing a guided tour is:
1) You can keep your eyes on the sites all the time--no worry about keeping your eyes on the road for dogs, bikes, and crazy drivers, let alone curves)
2) They educate you about what you see--e.g. the marae
3) The drivers often have interesting stories of their own/own lives

We did stop at a pearl shop at the end, but the guide asked if we wanted to go in (we didn't) and that was the end of that. He gave us sticks to hike up to the waterfall at Afareaitu (I don't know if the tours go to that waterfall any more, though) and coconut to eat when we got back to the truck. As we drove all around the island, he kept pointing out places of interest. I'm not sure we would have recognized what we were seeing just driving by ourselves.

Shoot...just read you're looking at a group of 15-32. That's a lot of people! We had only 4 people on the back of the 4x4 (we were lucky), but they hold 8, I think. Maybe you could book several. They had too many people booked for our tour so 8 headed off on the first truck and the 4 of us hopping into a guy's car and he took us to Oponohu Bay where we caught another one.

We saw Moorea both on land and sea!!
On land, we did the 4x4 ATV Quad biking tour, we drove through the centre of the dormant volcano crater, to the top of magic mountain, the tour guide was very informative with many stops along the way visiting hibiscus and pineapple farms and lookout points, lots of photo opportunities, taste testing of fruits and jams with the option to purchase some, can drive solo or together with your partner and we toured with a large group of ppl. An adventurous ride through the terrains to see the beautiful views from the top of the mountains.
We also did a jetski tour around the island which had lots of stops with history and fun facts, lots of stops at beautiful sceneries and best of all we got to swim with stingrays and sharks!!

See our action packed trip to tahiti, moorea and bora bora:

Hope this helps and your trip is just as amazing as ours was :)

Never too late, Poehere. Those are great ideas. When I posted, I was fact finding and estimating. I'm not even sure if the trip will take place but we shall see. Thank you always for all of your help.

Spaminator to the rescue again! Is there nothing Yves can do about all the foreign spam in here? Seems like close to half the new people have registered here in the last year are spammers.
