depending on where you're staying..... most resorts accept credit cards. and capitol one is the best. the US dollar is accepted most places. a small amount of CPF would be good for small purchases from vendors. some pensions only have 220v and require an adapter. major resorts have 115v outlets.

Leave your curling iron at home. It's humid so anything you do will come undone and you probably will wipe out any adapter you use it with (I'm pretty sure they say not to use heating appliances with them).
I found the resort's US-friendly outlets made my battery charger very hot. I don't think they're a perfect 'fit'.

cbf, the adapter will be ok for batteries but NOT for hair appliances!! You'd need a converter because of the high wattage or it will blow up!
Depending upon whether you'd be needing a taxi upon arrival in Papeete ?? you may want to get some cash or the $ exchange will be horrible if taking a cab or buying something small. During your stay you can charge at the resort and pay with your CC and withdraw cash at the ATM's

The snack bar at the Papeete airport will be open at 5:40 a.m. if you want to get a coffee and croissant after you clear immigration, baggage claim and exit customs, and after you check in at the Air Tahiti counter for your 7:00 a.m. Moorea flight.
The transfer people do not expect a tip. If they do something special for you, like handle some REALLY big heavy luggage or stop at a small grocery store for you on the way to your hotel, it would be appropriate to give them a small gratuity as a thank you, but otherwise, not necessary.

cbf, the amount you mentioned should be good, dinner count average of between 15 and 20 $ for an entree, 30 and 60$ for main course and 15$ for dessert p.p. and bottle of wine from 40 $ upwards. We usually pay around 180$ for a "simple dinner" meaning pre-dinner drink, main course, dessert and a bottle of wine and around 350$ splashing it in an upmarket place with a special bottle of wine.
Most restaurants will pick you up for free, some good places Mahogany, le Cocotier, Rudy's, Le Martinez, some **** resto's: Te Hono Iti, La villa des Sens, le Mayflower... distance of course depending on where you'll be staying in Moorea
