Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone is able to identify the song in this yout ube video that I took recently in Fiji. http://youtu.be/lE0j7Y5wpII This song has been stuck in my head and I can't get it out...would love to get a hold of a good recording of it. I recall there was a dialogue about RapaNui and I can make out something along the lines of "Rapa Nui E" in the lyrics. Any help would be most appreciated and put me out of my misery! LOL Thanks,
-Caz

It's not a YouTube URL. Don't go to the link.

I listened and couldn't identify it. Maybe Islandboy will see this and chime in.

I'm not positive but it sounds like it could be a song by Matato'a - a group from Easter Island (Rapa Nui). I will have to listen when I can spend more time listening to the lyrics. Maybe Barbi or Poehere can help as well.
The uke actually reminds me of Te Ava Piti. I will see what I can find.

Vai, don't go to Youtube's website. Cut and paste the URL in your browser and it'll take you right there. Or try this:

Hula e'a o henere
ua vinivini, o heitiare, i takaroa ua riri o henere,i tahiti ua hiata'i,o mareva,o miko i vaihi ua vehe te auta ho'era'a mata mata noa mai ,o taka roa
ua aueue o temehau,i ni'a i te motu ua heva to'u mama,i te pae miti e roimata,te ma'a no maiere nui no teri'i ua vehe te auta, ho'e ra'a mata mata noa mai o takaroa (ref)
e e'a ti'a ,no oe e pe'a nei,te ie,te ho'i nei te tino i te repo o te pito aita te mata'i,no vaihi e miri maha ia oe, to'e mai te rerehi no te iaorana,ia orana, iaorana ia henere
BTW the group Fenua also has a song "Rapa Nui E"... will try listen some more tomorrow

Thanks guys...will check out the suggestions and see if they lead me anywhere. Poehere, it's definitely not O Rapa Nui E by Fenua...it's a bit faster and livelier I would say and I had a listen to Takaroa and I'm afraid that's not it either :(
