FYI As per November 1, Air Tahiti is cutting down on the Moorea flights from 12 to 3 x a week adapting also the Society islands schedule with deps from Moorea accordingly. Anyone who has booked, make sure to check your resa.

So this is going to be problematic combining Moorea with other islands. Taking the ferry, getting to the airport, checking in for your flight or vv. It adds a lot of travel time and stress for those on 10 day or shorter trips.

Terrible news! I hope it's just for low season and they will resume a better schedule in high season.

Wow, that isn't many flights at all! Good thing we're already planning to take the ferry back and forth when we go in 3 months.

In fact they say the Moorea run is a total catastrophy financial wise, as they can not compete with the ferry rates.

Indeed travelling from Moorea to other Society islands will be much more complicated, although some company is working on a new fast ferry project (2012) connecting Tahiti to BB and those in between which would then offer a good and cheaper alternative...

Another ferry? Do you think this one will work?

Poehere,

Do you have any idea which three days a week the Moorea flights will run? The AT website is now showing schedules beyond October 31 yet ("winter" schedule).

So if you have a BB Tuamotu pass which incorporates Moorea, will Air Tahiti let us get the ferry back to Tahiti if we cannot depart to other Society Islands on the days we already have our accommodation booked?
