Fare Suisse Euro to CFP exchange rate?

Fare Suisse quoted me a rate in Euros. I know that CFP is fixed to Euros but I just want to double check that Fare Suisse exchanges at that rate.

But then if you pay with a CC... the rate will be according to that day's exchange rate versus the US$ which is not fixed... Normally the euro = fixed at 119,33 cfp but at the hotels they take out some commission as well and when we exchange cfp at the bank here to euro's we pay a small fee too...

Beni at Fare Suisse will take Tahitian francs or Euros. The Tahitian franc (CPF or XPF) is 119.33 per 1 Euro, and the rate is fixed, so the math is easy. Fare Suisse does not add a commission to this. The USD fluctuates daily, and you can find the current exchange rate on www.xe.com.

I paid in Tahitian Francs. Beni is very accommodating about most everything.

That should be 85 euros, 10143 xpf, or(at todays rate)$117.52 USD.

I just wanted to double check that there wasn't going to be a "creative" conversion of Euros to CFP.
(Aggie Grey's, in Samoa, quoted me a rate in USD. [Not as a courtesy conversion but as their actual rate.] They then gave me a bill in Samoan tala based on the most ridiculous exchange. They were very disappointed when I pulled out USD.)

When I last stayed there, with the exchange rate, the cost was closer to $125US. :-(
BUT...any way you slice it, it's a VERY good deal...especially considering the transfers are included. That's a $30-60 savings right there!

What Joe is quoting is what I paid at Fare Suisse, twice, in Tahitian francs last summer on two separate overnight stays there. Yes, Beni is very accomodating!

Your new favorite place in Papeete now Barb? The IC is a very nice place to stay. BUT when you just need a comfortable bed to sleep in and nice cup of coffee in the morning...you seriously can't beat Fare Suisse.
(not to mention bargain prices for a Hinano or 2 before bed!)
