After an extensive $40-million USD renovation, the Sofitel Moorea Beach (previously named the Sofitel Ia Ora) re-opened November 1st, 2006.

This spacious and lush resort borders a long and lovely sand beach and is the only hotel on Moorea with a view of the island of Tahiti.

The lagoon is crystal clear and offers some of the best snorkeling in Moorea.

There are 114 Polynesian fare (bungalows), designed in contemporary style with Polynesian accents offering all the amenities expected from a 5 star resort.

The Premium OverWater bunglaow feature a large bedroom leading to a spacious deck with deck chairs, small gazebo and breakfast area. The spacious bathroom is bright and upscale offers all the expected amenities.

The well spaced-out beachfront bungalows have a similar decor and feature terraces with unobstruted views of the lagoon, marble bathrooms, LCD TV, mini-bars, coffee/tea makers, and in-room safes.

One row behind the Beach Bungalows are the Garden bungalows which are similar and can also enjoy a view of the lagoon.
